Tactical repair is a new service that offers vendors the opportunity to have every vehicle fully appraised on arrival, potentially maximising vehicle sales value.

As part of the inspection process, trained inspectors using their knowledge and experience of the remarketing industry, highlight defects and faults which could have a detrimental effect on a vehicle sale. Once the inspection is complete two reports are produced, one with full damage details and one with recommended repairs to maximize potential sales value.

Data is available and managed by registered  vendor personnel through  SMA's secure online IMS portal providing a real-time web-based tracking process.

The bespoke online system  provides vendors with the option to proceed with repairs identified through the inspection process and can be authorised at a click of a button.   Where repairs are instructed , these are then actioned swiftly through  SMA's extensive on-site Technical Services facilities.  Vendors are kept fully  informed of the repair  process and notified once  the work is complete.  Vendors have access throughout the whole process to monitor the progress of each job and can also access relevant reports via the online account management system.

Our grading system is changing

NAMA grading has been developed to provide a long awaited industry standard grading scheme to be used across all auctions within the UK.

We have now introduced NAMA grading across our sites, and over the coming weeks you will notice more vehicles being offered for sale displaying a NAMA grade. These grades are easy to identify as they are 1,2,3,4,5 and U in place of the SMA grades A,B,C,D and E.

Please make sure you have familiarised yourself with the grades. We will still produce condition reports providing additional information for each vehicle as we always have.
