SMA Vehicle Inspection
Services
Consistency
guaranteed, delivered by SMA Vehicle
Remarketing
SMA Vehicle Remarketing are set to introduce the most accurate,
consistent and objective vehicle inspection service in the UK with
the launch of their New Inspection Services division.
SMA has conducted an in-depth review of the vehicle inspection
marketplace to deliver the type of objective, consistent
application of lease-end standards that the industry is craving, as
covered in a recent FN50 supplement, and as identified by SMA's own
research. The new Inspection Services division of SMA will
deliver this new level of service both on-site and in the
field.
In creating the new service, SMA developed three core
principles:
- The consistent application of a standard upon any vehicle
- Accurate costs
- Rapid service deployment
Designed to combine leading-edge technology and exceptional
customer service standards, the service is also designed to allow
for customisation of the core service proposition to provide the
type of bespoke approach that fleets are seeking. The
service, which has been fully tested, will be rolled out from March
1st.
"The end of lease process has changed very little up to now"
notes Managing Director Bob Anderson. "Now this is set to
change. The new Inspection Services division and the Inspect
& Collect service have been conceived to meet the needs of all
of our fleet customers and their end users. SMA dedicated
inspectors will undertake end of lease inspections to suit
customers with pre-appointed time slots to aid convenience and then
using leading edge technology tools provide an in depth vehicle
appraisal that rapidly connects the inspection, refurbishment costs
and cost/value assessment and collection to the fleet management
team using newly developed software which can be fully tracked. Our
goal is to deliver an exceptional customer experience and a better
all round service for all concerned"
'Better' for end users means that they will be contacted in
advance of the vehicle inspection with details of the inspector and
an agreed time slot for the visit. Bob Anderson notes;
"We are conscious of the need to limit the time impact on busy
drivers, and also of the need for trust in the process, especially
for lone lady drivers. A fully trained, named and uniformed
inspector will visit in a fully branded SMA Inspection Service's
vehicle and will always offer their full identity credentials
before commencing an inspection".
The inspection will follow a rigorous process, with the
inspector viewing and describing any damage identified using a
specially developed 'pocket inspector' backed by still photographic
images and unique video content covering visual appearance
internally and externally. The process has the capacity to
include any specific questions or information required to complete
the inspection, something that can prove vital in the case of
unusual vehicles. Following the inspection, a printed copy is
left with the end user containing a web URL for them to view the
full inspection details and images.
"Speed and service experience have been our
watchwords. The new service certainly delivers this and
aligned to the wider SMA proposition, means that once inspected a
vehicle can quickly be made available on the SMA online auction
services or any other route. Even in advance of any
refurbishment work, we can now ensure the sales process can start
almost straight away to maximise the value each and every
individual unit. All in all we really have developed just
what fleet operators and their staff has told us they want 'a
simple and better service". Concludes Bob Anderson.
