Britain's Best Independent Vehicle Remarketing Company 2010

The Institute of Transport Management (ITM) has awarded SMA Group with their prestigious 'Best Independent Vehicle Remarketing Company 2010' Award.

This is the first time in SMA's history that they have won this award. Speaking directly after the announcement, Andy Anderson, the Group General Manager said, "Obviously, we are delighted and a little surprised to have won such a coveted award. We have always prided ourselves on our pre and post sale infrastructure, and for the Institute to recognise all the hard work and dedication that goes on behind the screens is fantastic." The Institute of Transport Management (ITM) has been monitoring the aftermarket and remarketing sectors as part of its long-running accreditation programme. This is designed to identify the best providers of products and services in the industry.

It was with great pleasure that the Institute announced the presentation of its 'Independent Vehicle Remarketing Company 2010' title to Scottish Motor Auctions (SMA), following in-depth research by the ITM accreditation team.

SMA can boast more than 35 years' industry experience, as the oldest - and largest - independent vehicle auction company in the UK.

Its network of Auction Centres across Scotland and the North of England provide customers with great deals on used cars, light/heavy commercial vehicles and plant. SMA Group runs inspection/valuation, collection and delivery services. This ensures that vehicles are accurately appraised, by trained personnel using the latest technology, safely and competently collected and finally delivered efficiently, all with the buyer's convenience in mind. The Technical Services Director, Ronnie Stewart said, "This Award has come about through many people's hard work and dedication to getting the vehicles right for the clients".

Commenting on the Award to SMA, Mr. Patrick Sheedy, Media and P.R. Director at the Institute, said: "We have many members in the automotive, fleet and logistics sectors who are intimately familiar with UK vehicle auction services. The research involved the canvassing of a significant proportion of these industry contacts. These members were highly in favour of SMA's services, both buyers and sellers reporting a high level of satisfaction with the material outcome of their interactions with this Auction Group as well the customer service they received throughout the process. Many added that they would continue to use SMA as their auctioneer of choice in the future.
