SMA Vehicle Remarketing Achieve Double Success at the 2012 Motability Awards

SMA Vehicle Remarketing's Edinburgh & Newcastle Centres are celebrating Commendation awards for their vehicle remarketing work with Motability Operations, the company that manages the Motability Car Scheme and the Motability Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Scheme. The accolades are part of the annual Motability Supplier Awards, now in their seventh year.

Taking Commended status in the Auction Centre award category, SMA's Edinburgh & Newcastle Centres have been recognised for their excellence, efficiency and innovation. In particular, Motability focused the awards on the delivery of exceptional customer service, a feature that fits with SMA's overall business Vision.

Explaining the reasons for SMA's Commendations, Mike Betts, chief executive, Motability Operations, said:

"Both SMA Centres consistently provide high levels of performance, and a flexible approach, encouraging an increase in buyer numbers and buyer loyalty. Amongst the commended features, Edinburgh has been recognised for the innovative and entrepreneurial approach to successfully support sales of former Motability cars. In particular, the online sales processes and the added-extras for buyers are of note, ensuring that SMA Edinburgh retains its reputation as an auction centre that does things differently.

"SMA's Newcastle centre has a long-standing reputation for flexibility and service and commands tremendous buyer loyalty through its commitment to make it easy for buyers to find the stock they want.  This includes through digital and traditional marketing and also through the overall quality of the buyer experience. Congratulations to all at SMA Newcastle and Edinburgh."

The Motability Supplier Awards recognise the performance and consistent excellence across all the different disciplines involved in delivering both the Car Scheme and the Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Scheme. Ranging from car manufacturers, adaptation and conversion specialists to local dealers, who are the face of the Motability Scheme, all winners have delivered the highest standards.

As well as recognising business partners who work on the behind-the-scenes logistics of the Scheme, the Motability Supplier Awards also include a customer-nominated award for the best Motability Specialist. There were 14 award winners and several commendations in each category.

Celebrating their Motability Supplier Award commendation, Bob Anderson Managing Director at SMA Vehicle Remarketing, said:

"We are exceptionally proud to be recognised with two Commendations at the Motability Supplier Awards. The awards generate stiff competition, and Motability is renowned for its high standards. SMA Vehicle Remarketing are thrilled to be recognised for our dedication to working in partnership with Motability. We are committed to combining outstanding personal service and innovation in our approach and it is wonderful to see this strategy gaining such high praise from such a key customer. We look forward to continuing our award-recognised approach to support Motability Operations moving forward."

Motability Operations manages the worry-free Motability Scheme for over 600,000 disabled people and their families. Anyone who receives the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement can exchange this monthly payment to lease a brand new car, scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability Scheme.

Our grading system is changing

NAMA grading has been developed to provide a long awaited industry standard grading scheme to be used across all auctions within the UK.

We have now introduced NAMA grading across our sites, and over the coming weeks you will notice more vehicles being offered for sale displaying a NAMA grade. These grades are easy to identify as they are 1,2,3,4,5 and U in place of the SMA grades A,B,C,D and E.

Please make sure you have familiarised yourself with the grades. We will still produce condition reports providing additional information for each vehicle as we always have.
